Hello. Hi. Salutations.
Thank you for stopping by to check out my work.
It's difficult for me to fully express just how profound a realization I had, late in 2019, when I began to explore different ways in which I could use my voice.
Back in my teenage years, my first job was as a tour guide with the Jesse James Museum in Missouri. That was the first experience I had with what a powerful tool a voice could be. Over time, I've explored different ways to use my voice and to grow as an artist and performer.
I hope you'll check out some samples. If you do, I think you'll find that I am engaging and warm, and I bring my enthusiasm & humor, along with a keen sense of focus to everything I do. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have a project or an idea you'd like me to work with you on!
My Story
I’m a single mom working from a professional home studio in the midwest. All my life, people have been telling me I have a pretty voice, and that was really nice, but I kept thinking ... pretty voices are a dime a dozen. What am I supposed to DO with that? It wasn’t until late 2019 that I began to explore what what could mean.
Once I started exploring, it was instant love. Since then, I’ve done a deep dive into the world of audio production. Mic technique, room treatment (I started with a phone on the floor of my closet, then a PVC pipe & moving blanket frame, and then a fancier PVC pipe & moving blanket booth ...and now I have an actual booth, with a door!), basic sound engineering, you name it! When I encounter a gap in my skills, I take a class or consult with an expert to learn what I need to learn and to do the work that I need to improve. I am committed to always learning, growing, and creating the best possible sound.
Though I’m a trained singer, I haven’t sung seriously since the late 1990s. I never thought I could love anything more than singing, but - goodness, I do. These days, I go online to sing one-take karaoke-style covers to warm up my voice, and you can check those out on my Youtube channel, if you wish!
When I’m not locked in my booth (which is so cozy and comfy, I could easily spend entire days in here!) — I work full-time with a social services nonprofit. Being connected to a larger movement is profoundly moving for me, and I love doing what I do. I’m also the mama to two amazing children who both sustain me AND zap my energy, and always keep me humble. I love to cook things I can’t pronounce, explore the world around me, go on hikes, and I probably eat more cilantro than any person you’ve ever met.
